about

Like the original Native Tongue enhanced CD, this is a project through which I'm documenting my musical journey and the unique writing/playing collaborations I've had the privilege of sharing with my highly respected close musical friends over the years. *I'll be adding songs to this album here at Bandcamp.com on a regular basis until the 10-song CD is completed.

Track Name: Pretending
PRETENDING

© 2008 by Kam Falk

I can see that you’re trying to pretend
That’s the way to play the game if you want it to end
Just think about it, I know you’ll see
that we can’t pretend to make it to our destiny

It can take away the pain
But we’d be living life in vain
And going constantly insane
What would we lose our souls to gain?

What we don’t know can hurt us a lot
’Cause it’s true, communication is all we’ve got
So just call me when you’re down and you need a friend
’Cause you know it’s really useless to try and pretend

It can take away the pain
But we’d be living life in vain
And going constantly insane
What would we lose our souls to gain?

I assure you, I know what it’s like
To be the one who’s afraid of simply doing what’s right
Been there before, so I know how you feel
But our love’s the motivation that keeps it real

It can take away the pain
But we’d be living life in vain
And going constantly insane
What would we lose our souls to gain?
What would we lose our souls to gain?
What would we lose our souls to gain?
Track Name: I'm Not Your Fool
I'M NOT YOUR FOOL

© 2014 by Kam Falk and Gary Bivona

Did you think we didn't know what you were doin'?
I wasn't born yesterday
An easy mark, huh, who do you think you're foolin'
We're not your pawns to use that way
You sized us up with a plan for the taking
You knew which one would get it done

CHORUS

No shame's you're game
Not gonna let you bring us down
No time for you
You're not the only game in town, because
I''m not your fool,
I'm not your fool,
I'm not your fool,
I'm not your fool

Don't try to call when you find out what we're doin'
Now we're showin' you the door
'Cause we all knew we could never make you listen
No use in tryin' anymore
Just when you thought you had us trapped in your pocket
Watch me show you how it's done

CHORUS

No shame's you're game
Not gonna let you bring us down
No time for you
You're not the only game in town, because
I''m not your fool,
I'm not your fool,
I'm not your fool,
I'm not your fool

REPEAT CHORUS
Track Name: Heart of a Soldier
HEART OF A SOLDIER

© 2014 by Kam Falk and Gary Bivona

Why did I believe,
Love it or leave?
And why did You choose me to sacrifice
I'm scarred for life, I'm paralyzed
And you tell me to leave it all behind, well I'd
Put it all
On the line
Any time
To be whole again
To be home again

I had a chance to lay down when they shot me once before
That's not what a hero does in war
Now I'm back and I'm treated like a villain in this town
When I thought it was you I was fighting for
I just want to be whole again
I remember, it all made sense
I just want to be home again

Why do they all stare?
Nobody cares
Hold on, nobody said that life would ever be very fair
You blessed this war, this crazy rich man’s war
Now you’re left to beg for your humanity, well they
sent you there
Unaware,
On a dare,
And I can't go on
I can't go on

See the holes in the middle of those patties I just made?
We fill ‘em up with whatever we can find
And in a year, it’s an extra forty grand that I get paid
The way they eat it up, you'd swear they're blind
I just want to be whole again
I remember, it all made sense
I just want to be home again
