Following the release of 2002's enhanced CD entitled, NATIVE TONGUE, composer/bassist/keyboardist Kam Falk went back to the woodshed to begin developing a creative concept for this highly anticipated follow-up CD as a solo artist. While crafting this new CD, he has reached significant new career milestones, including collaborating with a host of new and musically gifted artists, composing his first symphony, the Belliger Symphony, and earning a master's degree in music composition. Along with these milestones, Kam has continued to perform on a regular basis while teaching music and sound engineering. His experiences have all been weaved into the sonic image of RETRO-RESPECT, with a focus on keeping the sound contemporary while serving each song with a unique arranging approach, along with adept and judicious playing.
Kam has also carefully chosen the repertoire for RETRO-RESPECT, this time emphasizing a more accessible arranging and performing style in the music, as well as choosing select favorites by ten of the most noteworthy and influential artists of this generation and giving you his unique interpretation. He has solicited some very capable help along the way, including friends such as saxophonist Alex Dean, guitarist Dorian Vaz, keyboardist Gary Bivona, and many more. With this new outing, Kam gives listeners a welcome new sound that blends all of his influences, giving you a healthy dose of rock and pop while stirring in some jazz and R & B spice.

SHAPE OF MY HEART © 1993 Sting, Dominic Miller He deals the cards as a meditation And those he plays never suspect He doesn't play for the money he wins He don't play for respect He deals the cards to find the answer The sacred geometry of chance The hidden law of a probable outcome The numbers lead a dance I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier I know that the clubs are weapons of war I know that diamonds mean money for this art But that's not the shape of my heart He may play the jack of diamonds He may lay the queen of spades He may conceal a king in his hand While the memory of it fades I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier I know that the clubs are weapons of war I know that diamonds mean money for this art But that's not the shape of my heart That's not the shape, the shape of my heart. And if I told you that I loved you You'd maybe think there's something wrong I'm not a man of too many faces The mask I wear is one Well, those who speak know nothin' And find out to their cost Like those who curse their luck in too many places And those who fear are lost I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier I know that the clubs are weapons of war I know that diamonds mean money for this art But that's not the shape of my heart But that's not the shape of my heart That's not the shape, the shape of my heart That's not the shape, the shape of my heart

BADGE © 1969 Eric Clapton, George Harrison Thinkin bout the times you drove in my car. Thinkin that I might have drove you too far. And I'm thinkin bout the love that you laid on my table. I told you not to wander round in the dark. I told you bout the swans, that they live in the park. Then I told you bout our kid, now he's married to mabel. Yes, I told you that the light goes up and down. Don't you notice how the wheel goes round? And you better pick yourself up from the ground Before they bring the curtain down, Yes, before they bring the curtain down. Where is my badge? Where is my badge? Where is my badge? (Who has it?) Where is my badge? (Who had it?) MAINLINE FLORIDA © 1974 Eric Clapton My heart was leaping in the sun My friends all say that you're the one Let me get this one thing very clear There ain't enough going on down here Mainline Florida, oh say Mainline Florida, okay Her arms were open, open wide Her invitation's a changing tide I could remember not long ago We took a cruise down on Hotel Row Mainline Florida, oh say Mainline Florida, okay
