This song was written in 1992 in response to Hurricane Andrew. I composed it on the piano and didn't release it until 2010, when I included it on my WEDDING DAY CD project. However, I was not satisfied with the solo piano rendition and wanted it to be an ensemble piece. I tried everything up to a full-scale symphonic orchestration, then finally settled upon the nylon guitar, piano, Palatino upright electric bass trio format. Around the year 2000, I flew guitarist, john Bruschini, down from New York to S. Florida to record the melody (after initially trying it on violin). The recording was successful but in the end, due to the substantial transformation of the recording and mixing process between the time we recorded his guitar part and the release of this CD, I ultimately played both the piano and Palatino bass parts to John's guitar track in order to finalize the piece.
